North Shore Animal League America's VolunTEEN program gives high school students ages 16–17 a meaningful way to spend their time — and it's one of the most impactful youth volunteer opportunities on Long Island. VolunTEENs commit 2–4 hours per week for 3–4 months, working alongside shelter staff in the adoption center: feeding and watering animals, socializing with dogs and cats, and helping animals feel safe while they wait for their forever home.

It's real responsibility, real impact, and the kind of experience that stays with you. If you're a high schooler who loves animals and wants to do something that genuinely matters, this is it.
