Most of us move through nature without really looking at it. Nature journaling changes that — it's the practice of slowing down, paying close attention, and putting what you notice on paper. Some people use it for science, some for art, and some simply as a way to feel more present.
In this three-hour workshop at Bayard Cutting Arboretum, botanist and educator Meg Marchica leads an interactive session on botany, phenology, and plant structure, then sends you out to start a journaling practice of your own. All supplies are included and every skill level is welcome — you don't need to know how to draw.
When: Saturday, November 7, 2026 · 9:30am–12:30pm
Where: Bayard Cutting Arboretum, 440 Montauk Highway, Great River, NY 11739
Cost: $45 per person
