Join Chenae Bullock, a citizen of the Shinnecock Nation and master mishoon builder, for an evening lecture on the art of revitalizing the traditional dugout canoe — known as the mishoon — and its deep cultural significance to Long Island's Indigenous communities. Bullock will share the story of how she learned to build mishoon using traditional techniques passed down through generations and what it means to bring this practice back to life on Shinnecock waters.
