Bring a blanket and settle into the grounds of Bayard Cutting Arboretum for a free, fully costumed performance of Shakespeare's beloved comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream. Presented by the Islip Arts Council and performed by the Studio Theatre of Long Island Shakespeare Troupe, this outdoor production brings fairies, lovers, and amateur actors to life amid one of Long Island's most beautiful landscapes.
The play follows tangled romances and mischievous sprites through an enchanted forest — a fitting story for an afternoon surrounded by towering trees and the quiet of the Connetquot River. Made possible through a grant from Suffolk County Cultural Omnibus Funding.
