Planting Fields' beloved Creative Spirits series returns with an evening that feels like it was made for the setting. Acclaimed author and Cornell University professor Trent Preszler takes you on an illuminating journey through the history, culture, and ecology of the evergreen tree — the silent giant that shaped America's landscape and identity. His book, Evergreen: The Trees That Shaped America, was longlisted for the 2026 PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award, and hearing him speak among the champion trees of Planting Fields makes the story come alive.
The evening begins with a complimentary signature cocktail (The Evergreen Spritz) and a chance to explore the first floor of the historic Main House on your own. Then settle in for a captivating presentation, Q&A, and a book signing — with copies of Evergreen available for purchase at the event.
