There are few better ways to spend a summer Sunday than on the water — and the 6th Annual Sustainability Regatta gives sailors a reason to do it for something that matters. Hosted at the Northport Yacht Club on Long Island's North Shore, this friendly pursuit-style race benefits Save the Sound's work protecting Long Island Sound.
Two classes welcome all skill levels — a Cruising Class (Jib and Main) and a Racing Class (Spinnaker) — with race starting at 3pm. After the race, stick around for a regatta party on the lawn with live music and beer and raw bar included. It's a proper summer afternoon: water, wind, community, and a cause worth racing for.
