A note:
It is the best time of year to be on Long Island. Try to get out and enjoy it if you can. We’ve added some terrific new events and opportunities to the site to help you out.
In this week’s newsletter we've got an art workshop for the kiddos in Huntington, a nature meets science photography exhibit in Locust Valley, and a magical arboretum grounds tour in Great River.
There’s also a great group of volunteers that gets together for weekly beach cleanups if you’re near the Long Beach area.
Plus two interesting job openings, and a Good to Know piece about how purpose tends to find you through other people, not despite them.
Let’s find something good to do,

Weekly Beach Cleanup Events
Join Long Beach Clean Up weekly beach cleanups and be part of a growing community taking real action to protect our coastline. Long Beach Cleanup is a volunteer driven movement focused on protecting our beaches, our ocean and the life that it supports. Every week, locals, families and first time volunteers come together for one simple goal: Leave the beach cleaner than we found it. No experience needed. Just show up.

Why Sometimes Purpose Finds You, Through People
Most advice about finding your purpose sounds like a solo journey — journal more, reflect deeper, look inward. But research from UC Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center suggests it works the other way around. Purpose isn't something you excavate from yourself. It grows from your connection to others and your sense that what you do can change their lives.
