A note:
Long Island is full of good people doing meaningful things, and most of it happens without much fanfare, outside of your usual feed.
These aren't just events and listings. They're ways back into your community. Chances to reconnect, enjoy life, and find work that actually means something.
In a world that can feel a little unsettling some times, that kind of thing matters more than ever. PPN is here to help you find it.
This week we've got a conservation dinner at a historic Oyster Bay estate, a reggae party raising money for the Great South Bay, a nighttime horseshoe crab survey on the beach, and some genuinely fulfilling job opportunities right here on Long Island. Plenty of ways to find something good to do.
Welcome. Really glad you're here.

Horseshoe Crab Survey 6-13-26
Ever wanted to see a "living fossil" up close? Join Seatuck for a hands-on night of citizen science.
Join us on the beach at night to Survey horseshoe crabs! We're conducting research on our local horseshoe crab population, and we need your help. We’ll start with a quick intro to these incredible 450-million-year-old creatures, then hit the beach to start the survey.

Successful Partnership at Broad Cove
Since acquiring the Aquebogue preserve in 2021, Peconic Land Trust has added amenities like a parking area, bilingual signs, benches, a chronology station, bluebird boxes, and removed invasive species while replanting native grasses. There are two trails to the water, a new meadow trail, and Broad Cove is now on the New York State Birding Trail.
