Ever wanted to see a "living fossil" up close? Join us for a hands-on night of citizen science.
Join us on the beach at night to Survey horseshoe crabs! We're conducting research on our local horseshoe crab population, and we need your help.
We’ll start with a quick intro to these incredible 450-million-year-old creatures, then hit the beach to start the survey.
The Details:
Gear: You’ll need a flashlight or headlamp.
Dress Code: Be ready to get your feet wet! Shoes must be worn at all times for safety; no bare feet or flip-flops when attending the survey, please.
Rain or Shine: We’re going out regardless of the weather. Lightning cancels
Arrival: Please arrive 20 minutes early to get briefed.
Important:
This program is FREE, but pre-registration is required due to strict permit limits. We unfortunately can’t make exceptions for walk-ins, so please make sure you’re signed up before heading out!
