If your toddler treats every bug hunt in the backyard like a full-time job, Sweetbriar's Wildlife Wonders series is basically built for them. Each month brings a new hands-on encounter with live animals, paired with crafts, stories, and guided exploration paced for the pre-K crowd.

July's installment, Cute Critters, puts the spotlight on some of Sweetbriar's most winning animal ambassadors — the kind of encounter that gets recapped enthusiastically at dinner that night. The 90-minute session takes place on the preserve's 54 acres along the Nissequogue River, led by one of Sweetbriar's experienced educators.
