The Wilderness Survival Series at Sands Point Preserve is back for its third year, and August's session dives into one of the most fundamental survival skills there is — making fire with friction. Led by survival enthusiast Mike Evans of Synchronicity Coaching, this workshop covers the ancient art of primitive firecraft in a hands-on outdoor setting on the Preserve's beautiful grounds.

Ideal for beginners and experienced outdoors enthusiasts alike, the workshop is part of a year-long series exploring everything from shelter building to foraging. Adults and children 14+ (with an accompanying adult) are welcome. Dress for the weather and bring sturdy footwear, gloves, and a hand towel.
