Sweetbriar Nature Center is looking for volunteers to help with the daily operation and maintenance of their Butterfly and Moth Vivarium — the enclosed outdoor garden that draws visitors to this 55-acre preserve on the Nissequogue River every summer.

As a Vivarium Assistant, you'll support all aspects of the vivarium's care, from feeding and habitat maintenance to ensuring the space is welcoming for visitors. An interest and genuine fondness for insects is a must. No prior experience is needed — training will be provided. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old.

Sweetbriar runs on volunteer power — over 150 people contribute their time across the nature center. If you love being outdoors, enjoy working with wildlife, and want to make a hands-on difference for conservation education on Long Island, this is a great way to get involved.
