Save the Great South Bay's Amityville crew maintains a community oyster garden at the Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club. They meet every other Friday morning for a couple of hours of hands-on restoration work — and they'd love to have you join them.

Volunteers pull oyster-filled milk crates from the water, hose them down, count and measure the baby oysters (called spat), and return the crates. You never go in the water, and no experience is needed.
