The National Youth Summit is an exciting event where middle and high school students get to chat with scholars, teachers, policy experts, and activists about key events in America's history that still matter today and will shape the future. The Long Island Museum has been chosen as a Regional Summit site for the 2026 National Youth Summit.
This year's theme is inspired by the Smithsonian's 250th exhibition, "In Pursuit of Life, Liberty, and Happiness," and will be exploring what this means for teens today. Attendees will enjoy a tour of the "Enduring Heart: Native American Long Island" exhibition and participate in a fun, hands-on workshop led by an artist.
