Can AI help neighbors take better care of the land around them, without giving up privacy or the human touch? That's the question behind ReWild Long Island's Landcare Hub. On November 4, ReWild founder Dr. Raju Rajan brings it to Stony Brook University for a hands-on workshop hosted by SBU's Collaborative for the Earth.
You'll see how the Hub turns environmental concern into direct local action using trusted, human-curated data. Then you'll get to shape it: recommend local experts, datasets and partners, and help write practical, ethical standards for community tech around privacy, transparency, human oversight and keeping the energy footprint low. If you care about both gardens and good technology, this one is for you.
When: Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · 12:30–1:50pm
Where: Wang Center, Room 301, Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY
Note: In-person workshop. Space is limited and registration is required through the event page.
