Hours: Thursday–Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Wildlife Center of Long Island is hiring a Part-Time Seasonal Wildlife Caretaker for a six-month position beginning October 1. This role is suited to someone with animal care experience and a strong desire to learn about wildlife rehabilitation. Once trained, you’ll work independently on daily animal care — preparing diets, feeding patients, administering medications, observing and recording patient progress, and maintaining clean enclosures.

Previous hands-on animal care experience is required, and background knowledge of native Long Island wildlife is preferred. You should be curious, eager to learn, and comfortable with the physical demands of the role — prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and cleaning. The Center operates out of two Huntington locations (employees use their own vehicle with mileage reimbursement).
