Why should you join a club? And why might the fate of American democracy depend on it? That's the question at the heart of Join or Die, a feature documentary following legendary social scientist Robert Putnam — whose groundbreaking "Bowling Alone" research revealed the devastating consequences of America's decades-long decline in community connections.

This special screening is presented in collaboration with the League of Women Voters and includes a panel discussion and community business fair in the Sky Room Café. It's more than a movie — it's an afternoon dedicated to the organizations and people working to strengthen civic life right here on Long Island.
