Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Individual Giving Manager to be a direct fundraiser by building and strengthening relationships with individual donors and prospects to increase philanthropic support for Peconic Land Trust. Key Job Responsibilities

Oversee a portfolio comprising 50 to 75 mid-level and emerging major donors, with an emphasis on leadership-level contributions and the cultivation of enduring relationships. Solicit contributions from donors for a range of funding priorities, while engaging LYBUNT (Last Year But Unfortunately Not This Year), SYBUNT (Some Year But Unfortunately Not This Year), new, and renewing donors. Facilitate the conversion of event attendees and other constituents into active supporters. Collaborate with the Donor Engagement & Stewardship Manager to ensure consistent communication with donors. Work in conjunction with the Marketing team, program staff, and other departments to enhance donor engagement. Act as a fundraising representative at various events. Partner with the Major & Planned Gifts Officer to develop strategies for prospective donors. Utilize database tools for the preparation of donor proposals and the updating of data. Collaborate with staff to develop compelling opportunities for donor involvement.

Essential Qualifications

We are looking for a personable individual with 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or similar fields. A Bachelor's degree or 5 years of relevant experience is required. The role focuses on building strong relationships, requiring curiosity and openness to diverse perspectives. The ideal candidate should be skilled in initiating conversations about philanthropic support with donors, able to work both independently and collaboratively, and manage multiple priorities efficiently. Strong writing, listening, and communication skills are essential, along with familiarity with databases and Microsoft Office. A valid New York State Driver’s License is needed for travel in Long Island and occasional trips to NYC. Evening and weekend work may be required.
