Lace up for the annual Helen's Walk/Run — a USATF-certified 5K through the beautiful grounds of Sands Point Preserve. Funds raised will support Helen Keller Services and Destiny Home, the only group home in New York State certified by the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to serve individuals who are DeafBlind with intellectual disabilities. Since 2008, Destiny Home has provided 24-hour support for four to five permanent residents in Port Washington, helping them pursue job and leisure opportunities that match their interests and abilities.

Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome. The course winds through the preserve's wooded trails and open lawns with views of Long Island Sound. It's a meaningful morning out — good exercise, a great cause, and a stunning setting.
