What's scarier than ghosts and goblins? Litter on our beautiful Long Island beaches. This Halloween, trade the trick-or-treating for something even more rewarding — a morning spent making our shoreline a little cleaner and a lot more beautiful.
The Halloween Clean brings together volunteers from across the community for a fun, spooky-themed beach cleanup at West Meadow Beach in Stony Brook. Organized by the Town of Brookhaven in partnership with the Long Island Sound Partnership, Avalon's Nature Initiative, Friends of Flax Pond, and Sea Grant, this free event makes it easy to give back to the coast you love.
Cleanup supplies are provided at sign-in — just bring you and your family, and a Halloween costume if you like. It's a quick, one-hour commitment that makes a real difference for the wildlife and ecosystems that depend on clean shores along Long Island Sound.
