There's something magic about walking through open fields under a full moon — and Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt and the South Fork Natural History Museum make it easy to experience. The July full moon is called the "Buck Moon," named for the time when deer antlers begin pushing through in coatings of velvety fur.
Join a leisurely one-hour evening hike through Vineyard Field's open trails as the moon rises over the South Fork. RSVP to reserve your spot and bring a friend — these moon hikes are a beloved tradition on the East End.
