Position: Food Distribution Coordinator – Older Adult Food Programs

Hours: 40 hrs/week, Monday–Friday; occasional Saturdays

Island Harvest Food Bank is looking for a Food Distribution Coordinator to support its older adult food programs across Long Island. You'll build and manage relationships with senior housing communities and community partners, help run food distributions, and connect individuals to local resources and support services.

This is a hands-on role that includes both indoor and outdoor work — you'll assist with loading cars and home deliveries, handle new client enrollment and database maintenance, and educate community members about available services. Experience driving a non-CDL box truck with lift gate is preferred, and you should be comfortable lifting 40-pound boxes for extended periods.

The position requires 1–2 years of customer-facing experience helping community members access services on Long Island. Proficiency in Microsoft applications is needed, and bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. You'll work across Nassau and Suffolk counties in varied weather conditions.
