There's something about autumn on Long Island that makes you want to slow down — to really look at the way light catches a red maple leaf, or the quiet crunch of acorns underfoot. This October, Seatuck Environmental Association invites you to do exactly that.

Fall Colors & Nature Art is a guided family hike through the woods at South Shore Nature Center in East Islip, where the fall foliage is at its most vibrant. After exploring the trails, you'll gather fallen leaves, acorns, pinecones, and other natural treasures to create temporary works of art right on the forest floor — no experience necessary, just curiosity and a willingness to play.

Part of Seatuck's free guided outdoor series presented by M&T Bank, this program is perfect for families looking to unplug and reconnect with nature together. Whether your kids are toddlers or teenagers, there's something deeply satisfying about making something beautiful from what the season leaves behind.
