Position: Development Writer
Type: Full-time
Location: Remote / Long Island, NY
Pay: $75,500 – $91,000 annually

The Nature Conservancy's New York Division is looking for a Development Writer to lead the creation of donor-facing communications — fundraising proposals, impact reports, thank-you letters, event invitations, and outreach materials for individual, foundation, and corporate donors at the $100,000+ level.

This is a storytelling role at its core. You'll translate conservation science into compelling, donor-friendly language, ghost-write for members of the division's executive team, and collaborate with fundraisers, conservation staff, and the NY marketing team. The position also involves crafting and implementing an annual donor communications strategy.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in donor communications, journalism, or marketing communications, with a strong portfolio of writing for varied audiences. Proficiency in interpreting financial reports at the project, program, and global level is expected. TNC offers an 8% employer 401(k) match, flexible work, parental leave, and comprehensive benefits.
