There's something quietly hopeful about planting bulbs in November. You tuck them into cold soil, walk away, and months later the whole place bursts into color — and you get to know you had a hand in it.

Bayard Cutting Arboretum's Grounds Team is inviting volunteers to help plant bulbs for next spring's blooms. The morning kicks off with breakfast in front of the Visitor Center, then it's three hours of hands-in-the-dirt work alongside the people who care for this place every day. No experience needed — just bring garden gloves and a trowel if you have them.

When: Monday, November 2, 2026 · Breakfast at 8:30am, planting 9am–12pm
Where: In front of the Visitor Center, Bayard Cutting Arboretum, 440 Montauk Highway, Great River, NY 11739
Cost: FREE
Note: Bring garden gloves and trowels if you have them. RSVP required — sign up via the volunteer form.
